Catalina Island Health’s Therapy Services Department provides inpatient care in the acute care hospital setting and community care in the outpatient setting and the home.

Experienced physical therapists provide care for individuals with a variety of injuries and/or illnesses. By integrating skilled treatment techniques with patient and caregiver centered goals and education, our therapists help return patients to their highest level of functioning.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists assess and treat patients to help them develop, recover, or maintain daily activities. By working to recover physical, sensory, or cognitive ability, occupational therapy helps those recovering from injury, illness, or disability live life to the fullest. Meet the Therapists

Natalie Latshaw, PT, DPT

Natalie Latshaw, PT, DPT

Natalie is a full-time physical therapist at Catalina Island Health. She works in a variety of clinical settings, including our outpatient clinic and the hospital’s Acute Transitional Care floor, as well as in home and school-based environments. She earned her Bachelor’s and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and brings a wide range of clinical experience to the island, including sports and orthopedics, vestibular and balance disorders, concussion management, wellness and injury prevention, and hospital rehabilitation. When she’s not helping patients move and feel better, Natalie enjoys swimming, running, biking, lifting weights, and traveling.

Avery Joharchi, OTR/L, OTD, PT, DPT

Avery Joharchi is a Huntington Beach native who attended Long Beach State with a Sport Psychology degree. Following, she studied in San Diego at the only school in the nation to offer a dual degree program (Master’s in Occupational Therapy and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy). She has a vast background in treating hands, orthopedic and neurological patients. She loves treating individuals at any age and empowering them to live life to their fullest. In her free time, she practices yoga, hikes, snorkels, enjoys traveling and has a love for all animals, especially cats and dogs. In December 2024 she received her post-doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Also in 2024, Avery served as the healthcare provider for the CIF champion football team.

Brooke Trunnelle, PT, DPT

Brooke is a physical therapist from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She is a graduate of Texas Woman's University, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Brooke has clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular physical therapy, as well as inpatient neurological and post-transplant rehabilitation in a hospital setting. She has worked with patients of all ages and a variety of conditions, providing personalized rehabilitation and care. Brooke enjoys running, working out, and spending time outdoors.

Brandi Trunnelle, PT, DPT

Brandi is a physical therapist from Rancho Cucamonga, CA dedicated to helping individuals achieve optimal health and wellness through personalized treatment plans and evidence-based research. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine in Irving, TX. Brandi has experience working with patients of all ages and enjoys helping them do the activities that matter most to them. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys running, working out, and going to the beach.

Patrick Brayall, PT, DPT

Patrick is a physical therapist who has dedicated his career to helping patients on their path to recovery. Hailing from Northern Maine, his unique journey began with a Business Management degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle and time spent as a claims adjuster. This early experience in a detail-oriented role provides him with a practical, client-focused perspective. After earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University, he expanded his skills by practicing in various states and in Australia. Patrick's expertise spans pediatrics, sports orthopedics, home health, and neurological rehabilitation, allowing him to treat a wide range of patient needs.
