The Medical Group Office (MGO) is located at 100 Falls Canyon Road, up the street from Avalon’s City Hall on the bottom level of the hospital.
Catalina Island Medical Group serves Catalina Island’s medical needs with full-time physicians and nurse practitioners and is supported by the ancillary hospital resources including diagnostic imaging, therapy services, nutritional counseling and clinical laboratory services. The Medical Group’s scheduled hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening appointments may also be available. Please call (310) 510-0096 for an appointment. When you call, it will be helpful for you to give the receptionist your name, phone number, insurance information, date of birth and the reason for your visit. If your medical needs are of an emergency nature, Catalina Island Health’s emergency room is always open.

Dr. Edwin McGroarty
MD, Chief of Staff
Dr. Edwin McGroarty serves the Catalina Island community as a clinic physician. He has been practicing medicine for more than 20 years, specializing in Family and Emergency Medicine. He is also a military veteran, having served 10 years in the United States Navy. Dr. McGroarty is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Santa Dominguez
FNP
Nurse Practitioner Santa Dominguez has worked in the healthcare field for over three decades, including more than 25 years spent serving the people of Avalon. She has extensive experience working with both children and older adults living with dementia.

Dr. Meghan Zomorodi
DO
Dr. Meghan Zomorodi is a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. She completed her family medicine training at Loyola Medicine Macneal Hospital near Chicago and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of California Irvine.
Dr. Zomorodi enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from newborn on up. She provides full-scope family medicine and non-operative sports medicine care, including medical and musculoskeletal care for athletes and non-athletes of all ages and levels. She has served in the field as a team physician for professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes across a wide range of sports and performs ultrasound-guided procedures on numerous joints and tendons. She provides services in English and Spanish.

Dr. Aimee Warren

Dr. Aimee Warren is a visiting family practice physician at CI Health, available for both clinic and Med-spa services. Dr. Warren previously served as Chief-Of Staff at Catalina Island Health from 2016 to 2021. She is a graduate of Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and did her residency at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Warren and her husband, a Los Angeles County Firefighter, have two children and return to Catalina Island as often as possible. Her patients describe her as “a rare kind of physician who tells it like it is but is very nice, knowledgeable, and has a great bedside manner."


Karla Perisho

Karla Parsons-Perisho is a Board- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner serving Catalina Island Medical Clinic on a visiting basis. She holds a doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) and a masters in nursing science (MSN). Karla is island- raised and has served the community for over 40 years as both an RN and Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Robert Sawyer

Dr. Robert Sawyer is dual board certified in both Family Medicine and Interventional Pain Management. He is a 27-year Army veteran who specialized in treating chronic pain in America's most elite Special Operations Soldiers. Dr. Sawyer is excited to bring those years of experience to the Catalina community.

Physical & Occupational Therapy
Catalina Island Health’s Therapy Services Department provides inpatient care in the acute care hospital setting and community care in the outpatient setting and the home.
Experienced physical therapists provide care for individuals with a variety of injuries and/or illnesses. By integrating skilled treatment techniques with patient and caregiver centered goals and education, our therapists help return patients to their highest level of functioning.



Behavioral Health
Behavioral health assessments and therapy are provided at CI Health via in-person face-to-face visits, teletherapy, and virtual visits for adults, children and families. These services can help people struggling with such issues such as: anxiety, depression, adjustment to major life issues, grief, trauma, anger and stress management, substance abuse and children’s behavioral problems.

What to Bring to Your Appointment
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- Photo identification
- Proof of insurance
- A list of any questions you may have for your provider
- Any co-payment and/or deductible for which you are responsible
- A list of any medications you are taking
- If you are under 18, you will need parental permission
- If your appointment is for a work-related injury, you will need written authorization from your employer which should include your employer’s Workers Compensation insurance information
Once you arrive at the medical group, you will be seen by your scheduled provider. Every attempt will be made to make sure you are seen at your appointed time, but please understand that emergencies may cause a delay. Other patients may have appointments with a different provider, and may be called to their appointment before you, even if you arrived before they did.
