Catalina Island Health Receives Two 2024 Press Ganey Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Awards

Catalina Island Health has been named a 2024 Human Experience (HX) Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey, the global leader in healthcare experience solutions and services. This award is part of Press Ganey’s annual ranking of the top hospitals and health systems in the country, according to performance in patient experience. CIH has been recognized for its Emergency Department and Clinic.

As a winner of the Press Ganey HX Guardian of Excellence Award, CIH is in the top 5% of healthcare providers in delivering quality patient experiences in the last year. The data is collected via surveys sent to patients following each visit.

In the Emergency Department, CIH’s partnership with the University of California Irvine School of Medicine continues to positively impact patient care and improved satisfaction for island residents and visitors. In turn, emergency medicine specialists from UCI work on honing their skills, making positive connections with patients, and learning the art of medicine in a rural setting.

With a focus on having bilingual staff, patients feel more confident throughout their visit and better understand the plan for their overall well-being.
