Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are now available at Catalina Island Health! The CDC now recommends the newly-authorized 2023-2024 monovalent COVID-19 vaccines for everyone age 6 months and older, to help protect them against severe COVID-19 illness this fall and winter.
Out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 testing, vaccines, therapeutics and treatments may be changing, depending on your insurance coverage. If you are insured in-network with CI Health these remain at no-cost to you. If you are insured out-of-network, act soon! No-cost-coverage expires November 11, 2023.
If you are uninsured, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will be coming to the Island on a future date to provide vaccinations at no charge. Or visit https://myturn.ca.gov/ for free vaccination sites over town.
Cash prices for vaccinations are as follows:
Pfizer 6 months – 4 years $100.00
Pfizer 5 years -11 years $120.00
Pfizer 12 years and over $165.00
We will keep you posted on the availability of Moderna.
CI Health also has free COVID-19 tests available at both the clinic and hospital.
Who Should Be Vaccinated?
Everyone 6 months and older in the United States should get an influenza (flu) vaccine every season with rare exception. CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has made this “universal” recommendation since the 2010-2011 flu season.
Vaccination to prevent flu and its potentially serious complications is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications. A full list of age and health factors that confer increased risk is available at People at Higher Risk of Developing Flu-Related Complications.
More information is available at Who Needs a Flu Vaccine.
Fluzone Quadrivalent flu vaccines are free to everyone.
Fluzone High Dose flu shots for ages 65+ are covered by insurance.
Please call the clinic for an appointment for either one or both vaccines (310) 510-0096. Both vaccines can be given at the same time.
