Insurances
Alinea accepts a variety of insurance policies (HMO, PPO, etc.) and will run it at the time of your appointment. However, many insurance providers require a referral and/or prior authorization. Specifically, we know that Kaiser, L.A. Care, and HealthNet will require a referral. There may be others so be sure to check your policy.
We encourage all women who are interested, to check with their insurance company on what is covered and if they require a referral or prior authorization, reach out to your primary care doctor to get that taken care of prior to the screening event.
Bring your ID, insurance card, and any referral or other paperwork from your primary care doctor that is related to this screening.
Please note: Catalina Island Health is the host of this event, but the insurance used must be accepted by Alinea and may or may not align with what is or isn’t accepted at our clinic.
No Insurance?
If you do not have insurance, you may be eligible to receive a free screening courtesy of California’s Cancer Detection Program “Every Woman Counts” through the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
To qualify for the FREE service, you must:
• Be 40 years of age or older
• Have low household income
• No insurance
If you do not have insurance and do not qualify for a free screening, you can self-pay.
Susan G. Komen Catalina Island Walk & Paddle September 28
Join us for the Susan G. Komen Catalina Island Walk & Paddle September 28. Meet at Wrigley Stage at 12 pm along Crescent Ave to start the walk or paddle.
- Participants are encouraged to wear pink and bring any flags, noisemakers, and pink ribbon related items for the walk. Once the group is together, the walk will commence and head from the Wrigley Stage area to the Casino for a photo op and then back along the waterfront and out to the Cabrillo Mole (where the ferry boats dock) for an additional photo op and then back to the Wrigley Stage area.
- The paddle takes place at the same time and roughly follows the same path as the walk except on the water within Avalon Harbor.
