What is Charity Care?

Charity Care exists to help families avoid financial catastrophe and exists to help qualified Californians who are unable to pay the bills associated with their hospital care.

Who is Eligible for Charity Care?

  • Uninsured patients
  • Insured patients
  • Patients regardless of immigration status
  • People with health insurance may qualify for discounts

How Do I Apply for Charity Care?

Applications are available at the hospital reception desk or by clicking the link below.

The Hospital Bill Complaint Program is a state program that reviews hospital decisions about whether you qualify for help paying your hospital bill. If you believe you were wrongly denied financial assistance, you may file a complaint with the Hospital Bill Complaint Program.
